Hi, do any clubs in Brisbane or South East Queensland cater for Vets , over 35's on modern bikes yet.
cheers

I know toowoomba does

VMX clubs ? All the normal MX clubs do.

Most clubs have a Veterans class (over 35) some even score and over 50s class as well. However the tracks may not be Veteran friendly.

Over 35 is common, and in my opinion BS. Isn't Chad Reed 35 this year?!
If the clubs want more of us over 50s to race, and I wish they did, they need to raise the age a bit.
Their seemed to be plenty of Vets in the older classes when they ran a MX "Vets Cup" years ago.
Last year at the Australian Supermoto championships they had a good field in the over 50s. This year we had to race with 35yos.

I think over 40s would be more appropriate that over 35s,Im 39 and have noticed its a lot harder for me to keep fit than a few years ago.
Over 35 and veteran don't sound like they should be in the same sentence.

In the past in the ThunderX series we had Veterans classes that were Queensland MX Championships. There were 5 age groups starting at over 30. Things have now changed and I think over 35 is the age to start at.
The MQ MX sub committee is going to get the Qld Vets MX Championships revitalised for 2017.
We are considering the following race age groups
35 to 39 years
40 to 44 years (raced together but scored separate)
45 to 49 years
50 to 59 years
Over 60 years (raced together but scored separate)
The thoughts are to run this with the Qld Post Classic MX Championships so the track is more user friendly like what were used for the ThunderX series and the Thumper Nats.
