Title: WP 4681 shock specs.
Post by: evo550 on September 28, 2016, 01:04:03 pm
Anyone got a link to rebuild specs fro a wp 4681 shock.
Just had one rebuilt at a dealer and it feels like a pogo stick, zero damping. They say they can't find any specs on the shock, so have just guessed settings (oil weight, volume, air pressure etc).
Bugger!!

that's a mid 80s shock , CR? Oil weight, volume and pressure aren't that variable and shouldn't make a lot of difference anyway. Its possible that they  haven't bleed it properly otherwise the shim stack if stuffed up. For a start ask them what they actually did use , weight , gas pressure etc

Its from a 1990 ATK 406. Pushing the shaft through the stroke with the spring removed, sounds like it's full of air. Very easy to push and pull the shaft. It was near impossible to move before the rebuild.
