Title: 1980 PE 250 tank
Post by: kipo on July 13, 2016, 12:21:28 pm
Just restored this 1980 PE 250 but usual story when i put fuel in the tank it split. The only thing I can find close is Just Gas Tanks and Clarke Tanks make after market for a 1980 RM 250 -400. Has anyone fitting one of these to a PE 250? Thanks for any advice.

Nice looking bike well done I think your better to leave it drained and cap off when not in use a lot do it seen yamaha it tanks do the same I have so many pe tanks for this reason but I think only one I have has split which was split when I got it.

There is a product called Creme ( spelling ??)   that will line your tank.
I have used it, and works a treat.

If its this one, i have used plenty of times in metal tanks and its fine for those but i am not so sure about using it in plastic tanks. The directions specifically say not for use in/compatible with plastic tanks.
