That DB article is good, except for the bit about the motors being based on KX125 motors. There are similarities (conrod, gearbox) but the 200 motors were always significantly different to the KX125 motors.
The various models of KDX200 all used the same architecture: bore; stroke; rod; shaft spacing; mounting points.

It's more accurate to say that the KDX200 motor was a stand-alone design from the start, and was progressively upgraded over the years.

I found one years ago that a bloke had ridden to work for years. the motor was good, needed rings, wheel bearings brake shoes and the shock reoiled gassed etc. Ended up with a great little bike that would keep up with ktms (until it got bumpy or the rear brakes got wet). wished I hadve parked it now.

Sometimes I have thoughts that I don't say.

Bottom LHS, vertical flat face, behind the gear lever.

Sometimes I have thoughts that I don't type out.

Does that mean you do know, but won't tell me ;D

I hope I haven't hurt your feelings Nathan. I thought of all the people you would be more thick skinned than that, given  all the argumentative debates and crap that you have been in and survived on here.

Well I apologize OK  :-*
Now come on does it have one in some obscure place, cause I can't f$%^&*# find it.

This bike has a compliance plate, but has never been regoed.

The original owner just rode it around his property.

So no past rego papers.

Surely it must have an engine number, maybe they use invisible ink or something FIIK :-[

When I booked it in,,,

He asked me to bring the old papers

Told him I have none,,

He then said as long as the frame, compliance plate and Engine numbers are clear, that I would be right.

Thanks Nathan, but I feel as though I already looked there a million times ::)

I just had a bright idea of searching ebay and just found exactly where it is,
No wonder I couldn't find it ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
Its actually on the right hand case right under the engine, pure f*&^%$# genius Kawasaki ::)

It wouldn't look too legible after sliding over some serious rocks a few times,,,or
Fit a bash plate and you'd have to dismantle it on the side of the road to satisfy a copper inspection
Pure F*&&^%$ genius Mr Kawasaki ::)
Unbefunkenleavable ::)

35mm PWK from the E model is hard to beat. Get the E airbox boot and intake manifold and it will go straight in, and E jetting will be a good starting point.

I've got a stock 28mm PE from an F model if you're missing a carb.

I have the air box and the intake manifold will be on the hunt for a carby
