Title: Honda XL/XR600 parts guru needed.
Post by: James Lee on May 24, 2016, 09:06:32 pm
I have an XR600 that has damaged 2nd gear and needs a new gear shaft and counter shaft has damaged splines. My question is will the XL600 parts interchange?Ive done some searching and it appears they do but if anyone can confirm that would be great.Ive also read the NX650 second gear fits and tightens the gap between 1st and 2nd gears?Hoping this is all correct as it will make things easy for me.Cheers,James.

Hi James,
being no Guru, I usually avoid such requests.

This may help you find some answers though

Go through the parts listings to see if they share the same numbers or not, I do it all the time to see
ONE; commonality of parts,
TWO; to look for stronger alternatives/upgrades

I have set those pics up as direct links for each model, just click on them to explore.
Cheers.

Thanks guys,It seems to be all the gears are the same but different counter shaft but I think the US bikes may have more splines for the sprocket from 91 on according to partzilla,If it will physically fit I can just get a new sprocket to suit.
I called Noel and he was very nice to talk with and is getting back to me with more info.
Thanks again,James.
