Can someone please recommend a good boilermaker in Perth who will assist me with some mods to my 1975 cr125m frame. I require the rear frame loop to be bent up and some small welding jobs. I have only been messed around so far. Someone who has a passion for Vintage bikes would be ideal.
Thanks, Peely!!!

Ask Ray Easson motorcycle engineering, if he can't help you directly then he might know who would.

I would keep my frame away from a boilermaker as far as I can. Boilermakers butcher things. You should be looking for a motorcycle frame builder or so. Some one who can use more than a stick welder and oxy torch.

Boilermakers do heavy fabrication where if it doesn't fit or there is a gap they get a bigger hammer or fill it with weld.
People that do lighter fabrication, motorcycle frames or even an older panel beater are what you need.

Jeez Thomas you single handedly insulted about 6 of me mates and myself :P sure there are rough chunts in every trade and indefence to me mates who are all frame builders, sidecars, fabricators, chromoly, aluminium, stainless, mig, tig, oxy, stick and and more than you can imagine, weld up submarines and all the rest it takes to keep shit up the pointy end ;) all good here thats all I got to say about that

I think Geoff Morris was trained as a boilermaker.

Yes you are right and it doesn't mean someone trained as a Boilermaker can't learn the skills to do finer work, but generally speaking a Panel Beater or even a Fitter and Turner usually has the finer skills for frame or pipe work.

What the!
I have just been insulted, bloody boilermaker my arse
They work with 2" plate and use sledgehammers to dress things up ;D
I'm a Sheetie, we work in the finer fabrications of life and have much gooder culture skills, we are also cheaper and more useful than a jeweler ;D
