G'day viewers just wondering on points of view on this subject ? I have a side casing on a old British bike to put on. Do I use a gasket or with modern technical advances in sealants do I put my faith in them ? Thanks jimson

Gaskets, specially on old stuff are there to keep fluids in place . Also to make up for less than perfect machine tolerances. Gaskets on english stuff for sure plus a smear of 3bond and I bet it still leeks when it gets hot. ;D

Thanks Pokey, as long as it doesn't leak at the blue slip lol. jimson

Actually the Threebond is the trick to stop them from leaking ;). if parts book shows a gasket, still fit one as some of the gearboxes are fussy and rely on the correct paper gasket being in there for correct shimming of the shafts. If its your first time, have fun getting the gear selector timing correct :)
