Any ideas on design or buying of a muffler for a modified klx250,
Looking for a muffler for my build but don't want anything to big,just something small yet effective

I use a pit bike muffler, looks good, works well, bit of a note though.

Was thinking of crf150rb muffler, I wish you can get 4 stroke fmf mufflers for vmx bikes

Well you can. They make FMF universal 4 stroke mufflers. They wont look period or vintage but they will go on vintage bikes and have a universal bracket/clamp system. I just looked on ebay and there's plenty so there would be other websites with them. Not sure if the Australian importer brings them in here though.

I had Mick Ricketts at Transact Exhausts in Brisbane build this full stainless steel system. Can't quite remember but I think it was $500-600 including fitting. Sounds great, looks awesome and seems to make the old girl breathe a bit better.

They are Gazi's. The guys in Brisbane built these especially. I wanted the ones that had the piggyback reservoirs but the wouldn't fit to the top shock mounts, so I then tried the lower rated ones. They are meant to be mounted with the bodies above and the shaft below but this also wouldn't clear the top mount without welding wider shock mount shafts or having the shocks wider at the bottom and their travel wouldn't be straight up and down, so the boys inverted the shocks and found they fitted perfectly.
This meant changing the valving so that they could be mounted in this way which also meant having separate chambers for nitrogen and oil...just like on their top of the range piggyback shocks. So I ended up getting the workings of the piggyback version in the basic body.
Absolutely great job and i couldn't be happier with them. I'm never quite sure of how much I spent but I think it was about $800 which was a real bargain Can't recommend the Brisbane Gazi guys enough. I'm ashamed to admit I can't remember their names, sorry.

My current klx has gazi piggy backs,think they are the top of the range vmx, here's my current one, they need tuning as sometimes they feel like pogos,I've got works shocks for my build

I used a silencer from a 430 Husqvarna. Works a treat.

If you're wanting a old school looking muffler to fit the klx Josh it may be a good idea to talk to Damon from cycleworks & see what he can make. He may be at the Johnny Old tomorrow
