Post by: Wrap on April 15, 2016, 09:07:11 am
Hello all , after pulling my PE down ,a few of the bolts are a bit shabby so was wondering is there a bolt kit you can buy or is it best to just order the bolts at Suzuki dealer      Cheers Wrap

Maxima oils sell the Bolt brand kits are great. They also sponsor VMX so we should support them whenever we can  ;)

Wrap are they engine case screws ( Philip heads ) or frame bolts.
A lot depends it you want to be anal and stay genuine or go aftermarket. Aftermarket tend to have a different head size -
up from 12mm  to 13mm. There are many suppliers or aftermarket kits but have never found one specific to Pe range replicating OEM sizes exactly
If its just a rider your local Nut and Bolt supplier would be your best option.

Genuine bolts with the manufacturers head markings are a part of a bikes identity as well as the correct design for the job. By all means replace engine screws with shcs but if you have them get the major bolts replated.

Most of the bolts etc are updated now with different head styles, markings and even colours so if you really need originality zinc plating and often repairing originals is the only way to go.
