I rode one the same a few years back, an ex Leisk/Jobe  RC500 that Mick Doohan has and couldn't believe how fast it was and how it pulled hard and strong all thru the revs and just kept pulling.

that's quiet an opportunity John, i  have heard this bike was given to doohan to play/practice on. was it a 1990 RC500 ? what did you notice that was interesting (other than the whole bike  ;) )

Yeah Hoony I think it is a 90 model, everything on it is hand made and billet, alloy tank etc.. a full works bike. There was a crate full of spares with different pipes, cylinders, various weight cranks etc for different tracks. I raced against it at the 92 Toowoomba King of the Mountain dirt track when I teamed with Dave Armstrong. Darryl Beattie and Anthony Gobert teamed up on that RC and had the race lead when Beattie crashed out

Yes, I rode this one too and that is exactly how it felt to me.

Love the comments from Geboers about "make it smooth". I know a swapper like me appreciates smooth power, good to know that people on the other end of the riding skill spectrum think the same.
