Title: Suzuki PE250B
Post by: brent j on April 03, 2016, 12:05:20 am
Just sounding things out at present

The next bike I'd like to get hold of is a PE250B. I'd be interested in anything but prefer a bike to rebuild

Might even let the TM125L go as it's not getting much use

Good choice 8)
The only item i can think that will cause you a major stumbling block is the font numberplate, but pretty much no one else has one anyway either, and maybe the speedo/numberplate bracket. The tail lights are out there if you look hard and or wait and so are the headights and headlight grille but at high prices usually, but i have never seen a front plate in any condition for sale anywhere. Repros needed badly for that one. And if you're not after originality, they upgrade nicely with a few RM parts.

There is guy I used to work with years ago he might still have it , I am 99 percent sure it was the first model pe 250 alloy tank model ? he brought it new from back in the day , last time I seen it was 16 or so years back it was a bit rough .
Had head light etc speedo then .
He's not a vmx guy at all.
Only thing with him he's one of those people that buys a car say for 30k he things he will still get 30k in five years time .
I can ask if you want ?

Leith, I got a good front plate in the right yellow [pale] from Italy, it's not 100% correct but looks pretty good, was cheap to. The Italians make so much plastic for bikes.

Is the plate the actual correct shape? I have only ever seen 78 onwards repros.

You can never have too many PE's in the shed.  I know of another 250 B, it's a bit on the average side or you could say well used, i think my wife would kill me if another one followed me home.

Cheers Pete

A very big thank you to Mick25 on this whole episode!

I've got a few photos but need to upload them at some stage.

My TM125 has gone to it's new owner, it was a bike I wanted as I had one back then but there's no vintage riding here and the one time we ran a vintage class the TM was the oldest bike by at least 10 years.
When I move from  here in a few years I'm looking forward to riding Vinduros, one day

Brent
