hi
i need to replace my clutch basket on my dt360.i have a spare dt250 clutch basket.the only difference i can find is the 360 has 64 teeth and the 260 has 65 teeth on the drive gears.manual confirms this as well.GEAR RATIO FOR 360 IS 64/24 =2.66 FOR THE 250 65/23=2.826.my question will the 250 work on the 360 giving a ratio of 65/24=2.7.has any one done this.will it work?? also might it be better for my dt gearbox make the bike rev out quicker
an other point my dt360 ignition seams to cut out on top of the rev range change gear and it revs again.would a sc500 ignition make the bike rev out more.
thanks
jim

if you change just the cluch hub the teeth will be to big and would run to tight you would have to change both the clutch basket and the crank drive gear and the idller gear

whats the timing set to jim? how much before TDC?
my RT1 uses a dt400 set up set at 3.2mm BTDC and works fine.
-
std dt360a cdi at 2.5 mm btdc same as mx360

y'know Jim, i was in a hurry when i put that last post up and walked away from my comp thinking something just wasn't quite right. mine is set to 2.4mm not 3.2mm.
as for changing the CDI over to the SC one. give it a try, ya never know, it may give you what you want.

I thnk if you use a 500 you need the whole thing not just the black box.

i have the complete sc500 ignition system including coil

I hate to correct Freaky again but you can mix'n'match 'em Jim. I use a DT400 cdi on my DT1 with an MX250 black box. I'm using a DT400 ignition on my RT1 engine and will use a YZ400 C black box.

I though it had something to do with the fly wheel set up? or maybe that was just the weight for Dt ? IHNFI
