Rather sad because Mick Hone were one of the better dealers, spare parts departments knowledge of old Suzukis was exceptional as was their customer service. :(

I agree with you Lozza but why keep taking orders for parts

Just quietly, I heard it could be a 'money juggling' type affair, it is likely going to re-open, possibly at another address.

I placed a 70 part online order the day before they closed. Some parts were in stock, some not but at Suzuki Oz and the other would be back order. Whilst i much prefer to deal with MH as i have been doing in the past, i need the bits now. Are there any other Oz stores offering the same or similar kind of internet ordering system as Mick (that go back to early 70's and link to fiche diagrams etc) out there that anyone would recommend. I've heard of Raceway Motorcycles in Melb, but their online experience isn't as comprehensive as Mick's.
any suggestions?

When I rebuilt my RM125B I got all my parts from Raceway Suzuki.

Thanks Mike, id much rather keep dealing with the Hone crew - they should probably still process my order then. i sent Mick an email a couple of days ago but understandably have not had a reply as yet. there's obviously a few of us here in the same boat as me, so fingers crossed

Unfortunately I don't think the liquidated company is obliged to honour any orders, that may take some sorting with the new entity. Hopefully it will al work out.

I just spoke with Mick Hone Motorcycles on the phone.  I was told Mick is working on re-structuring so that the business can re-open ASAP, apparently with the same name on the front.  I was told it may take a few days before they re-commence trading.  I'm gonna leave my parts orders with them, they can do with all the business they can get.  Worth supporting I think!

I wonder if this situation has something to do with the mysterious and well publicized disappearance of Sigbjorn "Ziggy" Arness? Part owner? And salesman at Mick Hone Motorcycles. (Since located safe and well I understand.)

I only know anything about this because I googled "Mick Hone Motorcycles" after I heard the news re "administration".

I think you're right, they did say something about a partner leaving the business on the phone this morning.  It makes more sense now.

Sounds like mainly good news all round.
Even though I live in QLD now, and NSW previously, I've only ever heard good things about Mick Hone motorcycles and considered it an iconic shop.

I'm glad.

It looks like Mick Hone Motorcycles are trading again, I just got an email from them conforming that they've processed the online order that I placed last week.

Isn't stalking someone online a criminal offense these days!

Spelling offence as offense is an offence I believe. J
