Title: Is a 84 CR disc front end legal on a 83 CR480??

As per the title, have checked MA rules and it says components up to and including 84 but as the 480 was only drum thought id check with the general consensus.

I have a similar set-up on my 83 480. It was on there when I got it, though it was 83 XR500 front end I believe. I put an 84 CR master
cylinder on it with new pads and it works well.

13.14.7.1  Acceptable for Pre 85 class are machines and components built up to and including the 1984 model.

I think the XR front ends are similar.

Sorry Krikey only just seen your message.  Im checking out another 480 this week that has a couple of front ends. Not sure if i need yours as yet but thanks for the response.
