Title: g'day from south tas
Post by: dex on January 20, 2016, 07:48:39 pm
Hey all ,
Newbie here from south tas , have had bikes most my life ,
First trundle was on a brakeless kv75 Kawasaki , and first bike of my own was a honda xr75 red guard ,last of the 4 speeds ,,,I have spent years trying to find it so I can get it back ,,! .

Graduated to a ts90 Suzuki ,,ag
Then rm125 , cr480 ,,   wicked fun when your 14 .

I'm now doing Honda z50's , will post pics if wanted of one of those ..

Now the reasons on wanting to join ...
1 ,,,to help find MY xr75 ...
And 2 ..
One of my,all time wish list bikes is a 85/86 xr350 to resto /clean up .
Have noted and on the email list of an importer of bikes in Qld ,
Regularly brings over xr's ....and they can be registered here in oz ..
But heres the rub ,,they are usa models ,,therefore no indicators etc as in Australian adrs .
Could anyone shed some light on what would be needed ,,,harness, switchgear etc to get one on the road here in oz .
Or any differences between oz market ones .

Welcome to the forum Dex..... Hope it helps you fill your need(s) for finding your old XR.

I have a '74 XR75 that is waiting patiently for me to get around to restoring it. I have most of the parts already restored or new, it's just a matter of fitting in with everything else about life!

I've also got an '86 XR350 that is waiting in the que for a tidy up and refresh.

A word of advice, be wary when dealing with an importer..... I'm sure there are a few guys here that can tell you some horror stories.

I've seen a few '85 and '86 XR350's come up for sale in the last few months. Some appear to be good bikes while others are obvious spray can restorations.....
