Title: RIP DJ racing
Post by: William Doe on January 17, 2016, 09:45:13 pm
This is the post I never thought I would be writing and would give anything to make it not true .
On Friday 15th January 2016 the world became a lesser place for my great friend and all round good Bastard Don Jamison DJ passed away suddenly.
Why why why

DJ was a huge contributor to this forum and the previous forum before it got hacked .
His contributions were always positive and he loved a debate, DJs side of any debate were always factual and well researched .

You would never meet a more genuine , caring Honest , loyal , funny ,generous , humble ,hard working and talented Person. A mate that always had your back and would give you the shirt off of his.

There is no justice in the world

Mate you packed more into your 52 years and brought more happiness into other people's lives than anyone ever could .

What ever you turned your hand to you took it by the balls and conquered it .not just a winner a true champion .
You enhanced the lives of everyone you met and had the ability to make those of lesser abilities feel like champions to.
Inventor , innovator, debater ,coach , team mate , artist , athlete and even a bloody ambulance driver and nurse .
Who hell is going to keep me out trouble now and negotiate bail conditions and deal with customs etc .
Half a point , half a bloody point now I will never get a rematch .
DJ you have left a huge void in so many people's lives .
Knowing you made my life so much richer and the memories of our adventures I will share forever.

Wherever you are my friend I know you will be making it a better place .
Miss you mate and I promise to try to live my life every day as a little bit of DJ

Ah fork.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Although I only met DJ once at a Conondale CD I can only say that every word that TM Bill says is how I found him. A true VMX'er in every way he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his many mates, from both sides of the ditch, and of course with his family.

RIP DJ Racing and roost well in Valhalla #78

Sorry to hear about your good mates passing Bill. Never had the pleasure of meeting him but if he made such a difference to your life that you were moved to such fond words then he must have been a top bloke and that is good enough for me. Our thoughts are with you Bill, all his mates and especially his family, may DJ  RIP

Yes, doesn't seem fair. What a privilege, to have had such a character and friend that you describe of DJ in ones own journey.
Boots that won't be filled.

A wonderful vmxer with a 125 yamaha build,a click of his camera and a shed build can confirm Bills words.
Check forum member DJ Racing and youll get to know a guy that will be remembered for a long time and sadly missed by many.

I never met DJ however I always enjoyed reading his posts. I've had a little contact with Bill over the last few years and it's genuinely moving to see the respect Bill had for his friend. I've read your comments a couple of times Bill. All class. J

That's such a loss for family &  friends. It's times like these I'm lost for words. Life goes on,but the loss is always there when  the people that have left are so valuable to all concerned. DJ  will live on in your hearts & minds.jimson

RIP my old mate.

Why do they take the good ones?

I had the honour & privilege to meet DJ (& TM Bill) & a whole bunch of other blokes when I went over to NZ with Steve Sweeney a few years back to do a round of the series over there.  A nicer bloke you couldn't want to meet. I had just finished working on Steve's YZ400 & we were enjoying a few cold ones & he asked me even though a bike had been organised for me if I could ride any bike what would it be? I replied I had a soft spot for the old YZ125E. "Got one" he says, "let's go to my place for a look".

We bundled into a couple of cars & after a short drive we were at his place. One bedroom dedicated to bikes & bits & the YZ125 was in the lounge\bar. He said the last time it was ridden was about 12 months ago & he won some big championship on it. He wasn't sure if it would go & the back tyre was perished. I pushed the kickstarter by hand just to feel the compression & bloody thing started. DJ laughed & said it was a sign from the gods (Or words to that affect)

He rang some bloke and arranged a new tyre to be there first thing in the morning. I offered to pay for the tyre or at least some of it & he would not hear of it.

We had a great day & even better night as it was their presentation night after racing.

Only hanged with him for those couple of days but that was enough for me to know he was a one of a kind. (The good type)

Bill, please pass on my condolences to his family & friends. Thanks

Hold it wide open DJ.
