Love the door and the flat tyres. That's gold.

The tubes will cost you more than the whole bike stand.

I built a sandblasting cabinet once, took me about a year to scavenge every single part from the tip. Wanted to see if I would use it enough to warrant buying a flash one. My whole place kinda looks like your bike stand, so I relate.

nothing wrong with making projects from using cheap dump/dump shop bits and pieces crash and burn, me i hate cutting into a full length of inch square tube if i can find a piece in my stash that i got off the dump ;)a good place to shop when all the council workers are at lunch ;D ;D

Yeah, buy a good one.

I used an old kitchen sink, built a ply box around it used a perspex lid and bought a cheap blasting gun. Cut holes in for may hands and used car inner tube with X's cut into them over the holes. But you could staple some long industrial rubber gloves in there. I let the sand run out the bottom of the sink into a bucket that I had the sandblaster hose in.  It worked okay for bit's and pieces, then I upgraded to a bench top unit. Then one birthday I bought myself a freestanding one with built in vacuum.

I'm bad with timber. I've scavenged a fair bit of hardwood over the years and like the steel, I will spend all day trying to find an off cut somewhere because I don't want to cut a piece off a full length. The irony is I have all this timber I've hoarded that will probably never get used. It's always "Oh, I'll save that for something better." I've even gone and bought cheaper timber so not to use the good stuff. You can only laugh at yourself.

I started with one of these. https://www.tradetools.com/product-range/machinery-and-workshop/sandblasters/renegade-industrial-portable-sand-blasting-cabinet-risbc90

But got sick of not being able to see and having to stop every five minutes to push the sand back into the bottom so it could pick up.

I now have one of these.https://www.tradetools.com/product-range/machinery-and-workshop/sandblasters/renegade-industrial-sand-blast-cabiniet-floor-standing

A good compressor that can keep up is essential as well.

Blasting a frame will be tedious with those small blasters and a home compressor. I you add up your man hours it's cheaper to go to work and pay someone to blast it with an industrial blaster. Especially if it's been powder coated. You'll have to paint strip it three times first. Wire cup brush on an angle grinder works quicker.

If you want to do frames you'll need a shipping container, a 3 phase compressor and a sandblasting hose the size of a fire hose.

My compressor runs 320/lm and it runs flat out for my cabinet sandblaster.

when I was a kid worked at a furniture factory sweeping floors for money for motorbikes, I remember he had a huge old air vessel probably 1.5 cubic meter and just a average size twin clisby air comp keeping air upto it
funny thing it worked(boy did work) :P running the spray shop, staple guns, nail guns :o now only if he hooked up 2x air compressors the 1 poor bastard would'nt have had to work so hard (like all day and a early start in the morning)
shit havent remembered that for about 40 odd years
