Title: 1981 KLX250B parts
Post by: Brendon Fielder on January 11, 2016, 11:49:47 pm: Hey guys, new here. I'm looking for 81 klx parts. In particular I'm struggling to get a battery box. Just can't find anything anywhere on these bikes. If anyone has any body parts or a wrecking bike is be very keen on taking them off your hands!
If not does anyone know if the air bow was the same as another model?

Post by: smed on January 12, 2016, 07:46:55 am: I have this 1981 model for sale $250 ono,pick up only Echuca Vic, what you see is what you get,Turn's over,seems to have compression(no kicker, was turning over by the camshaft bolts ;))forks have a bit of rust in the triple clamp area but fine in the seal swept area,been sitting out side for some time judging by the "patina" ;) ;) but still has lots of good usable parts,I don't see a battery box though,do they hang off the rear of the frame under the seat?

Post by: grouty on January 12, 2016, 10:40:38 am: The battery box looks to be there. Just behind the airbox intake. You can see the wires that would go to the battery and the fuse that is located on the back of the battery box.
Look after those little boxes .... they are like rocking horse poo.

Post by: cloggy on January 13, 2016, 10:29:50 pm: i may have a spare on though I'm in the UK. you don't actually need one. You can wire everything to run without one, may not be legal in Regs overload OZ though.
