His Birthday was only two days ago, the 8th of January. Same Birthday as Elvis and my beautiful niece.

They're dropping like flies at the moment. I was Bowie fan in my early teens. Which may of had more to do with being a fan of a girl who liked Bowie.

Just last night I listened to side B of "The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" on vinyl.

"Jamming good with Weird and Gilly, and the Spiders from Mars...."

Another unique talent gone.

a cultural icon. What a legacy he leaves though - he was obviously at peace with his future

I saw Bowie in the 80's at the MCG, it pissed down and he slipped over about 4 times...the band were huddled up the back of the stage all sh8tting themselves they they would be zapped. the show was sensational and during set up they played this little known band over the speakers called ....dire straits!.
it was raining so hard we undertook several unplanned lane changes on the tulla freeway due to aqua planing...great night!
