Title: New Bing 54 Carbs?
Post by: Tahitian_Red on August 02, 2008, 07:15:19 am
Are there any suppliers for NEW Bing 54 carbs?

Someone on eBay sells new aircraft Bings, but they have a stange looking spigot.

I picked a new Bing 54 off ebay, $129US, complete with slide & spring.  Fitted my main & pilot jets, needle etc.  Bike runs clean, but later model bing must have a longer needle, if I wind full throttle(with engine off), needle lifts too high & can cause slide to jam up.  Slide for same 36mm carb is much larger diameter as well.  If I can sort the needle business, it will be a pretty good buy, I like the Bing carbys, except they piss out fuel at times on my newly painted cases!

Mike,

What bike did you fit it to and did spigot seal up well to the intake?

I put it on my VB360, perfect fit both ends.  Only major difference I can see is the choke mechanism instead of a tickler for cold starting.
