I've been looking for a first bike for my son and we've bought this one which is mostly restored but needs some finishing. Does any one have experience with this combo - I had a 125X/DT175 for a short while back in the 70's but didn't build it myself. It only has a pod atm - I'm thinking I might be able to cut down a DT airbox to make it fit. It's running the YZ pipe with the DT carb. The left side number plate is missing.
Thanks for any advice, Paul

Assuming it's a DT175 motor in a YZ-D frame:
DT air box is very different.
Personally, I'd refit the YZ air box, and make up an adaptor to seal the gap between the YZ airboot & the DT carb.
If the DT intake manifold is still soft, it's possible to jam a YZ carby in - but that's only helpful if the DT manifold points the carby in the correct direction.
Third option is to make a new intake manifold to join the DT barrel to the YZ carb (ie: DT bolt pattern, YZ carb diameter).

Yep sorry...DT motor in a YZ frame. Got it home and it seems to run OK. I'll look for a YZ airbox and go from there.

YZ125E or IT175D/E/F airbox will also fit.

OK thanks Nathan.
