Title: '76 GS400
Post by: YUMASTEPSIDE on November 11, 2015, 06:51:42 am
Anyone got a '76 GS400 with a centre stand ?......mine doesn't have one, and there don't appear to be any mounts for one, but I've found pics of this model on the web with them. Is it a difference from '75 to '76 models ?Does it depend where it was sold.....US...Europe .....etc.
If you have one with a centre stand, I'd appreciate some pics of the bike and especially the mounts.
It appears that the GS400 only ever came in white.......is this correct?......also it's actually a 360 !

Hey Roger,
I have a new Clarke tank  (white)for that bike here, was sent by mistake & is a bit painful to return to USA. If you're interested you'd save yourself about $100 on getting one direct from USA.
Cheers,
K

Yes I do ..      and I hope I got my centrer stand  back from you...

The Centrer stand is mounted on the Swing arm ..

two types of Swing arms   GS or MX ..

most bike into oz had the MX swing arm ....

so if your swing arm has a side stand mount it will not have a canter mounts ...

...............yes,I gave you your centre stand back !  ::)  But you didn't tell me about it being swingarm mounted >:(........so, does anyone want to trade a swingarm with centrestand mounts for one that doesn't ??   ;D

........every web photo I have of a KTM with a centrestand, dozens of them, there is no way they are swingarm mounted.
Maybe they just don't have them? :o

Are the photos you have seen perhaps of works or factory bikes? Sometimes those bikes had stuff on them different to the production models. As an example the 80-81 works PE's had centrestands but the production models did not.

Mounts on the frame

I reckon there's something like that in the back shed, from memory it is KTM but a later model I think? I'll check it out.
