Sounds a bit noob, even to me, but is there a resource somewhere on the net showing which letters denote which year.
I've seen CR250E, CR250M etc, but have no idea which is which. Mine is an '87 CR250 & I certainly don't know which letter it gets!
Any help appreciated.

Honda adopted the universal 17-digit VIN coding system in 1979 or 80. The model code for these bikes (and later) corresponds to the 10th digit of the VIN. The tenth digit is the one for year model.
This is why the 1983+ Suzukis have the same model letters as the Hondas.
Just to confuse the issue, we got some Jap market Hondas that don't use a 17-digit VIN. They use a 4-digit code, followed by a serial number (eg: ME03-100023). These bikes are still known as the same model as those that have a VIN.
