Title: gold anodized rim rot

Are gold rims more prone to rot for some reason?  I've stripped quite a few plain silver rims with no sign of it, but the gold rims seem to be eaten away to some extent every time

I think the ones i have are usable, it's more the colour difference with the new rims that's an issue.
