Title: Johnny on the spot.
Post by: pecrazy on October 11, 2015, 09:39:24 am
Found this listed on Facebook, only just around the corner and $100. Bloke said it just stopped, while loading it he said it kicks back while trying to start it, I knew straight away the timing was off. Cam chain is that worn that I was able to slip it back the 2 teeth and it fired straight up. Top end rebuild and a good cosmetic tidy up and she will be sweet.(http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah196/plymoth1/IMG_1883_zpsdgly28ty.jpg) (http://s1380.photobucket.com/user/plymoth1/media/IMG_1883_zpsdgly28ty.jpg.html)

A local guy has an XL motor in a pe400 frame, used what he could back in the day, still has it but won't sell it.

Got a bit done, think I've spent way too much time on it and I definetly have spent way too much money. 2 pac on the frame, rebuilt the top end of the motor, serviced and installed new seals in the forks, head stem bearings, chain and sprockets, suspension bearings either cleaned and greased or replaced.(http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah196/plymoth1/IMG_1911_zpsufrvsdvf.jpg) (http://s1380.photobucket.com/user/plymoth1/media/IMG_1911_zpsufrvsdvf.jpg.html)

should have just wacked a cam chain in and flogged it for 1500....after all that work you might get 2000 for it??

Yes I know, not that a 99 xr200 will ever be collectable, should have flicked it and spent the money on my PE. But it will be a nice little bike when it's done, was a pretty easy resto, the PE can wait it's turn.
