That's it, get yourself organised,
Come over for Classic Dirt 11/12 and Ozzie Titles 18/19
A feast of CMX
-
Classic Dirt where?
-
Conondale inland from Sunshine Coast, best venue ever for CD
Harrisville 45 min SW of Brisbane, 80 min NW of Gold Coast, best CMX track
-
OK I will be there for both . Is there any help for overseas riders . lol
-
way cool 8)
-
There could be assistance for overseas riders, so let us know who/what you have in mind as each will be treated on an individual basis
-
Iain - stop taking the piss out of Col - Tasmania is not classed as overseas...............................well usually!
-
Iain put in your case for consideration, you never know your luck. And don't listen to that trouble maker from "over there"
-
Hi Col, Is there camping and showers etc at the track?
-
Camping, showers, green grass, a pub not so far away.......
VMX could be just a side show the place is that good! ;)
-
FYI, Tas is separated from the big north island by a strait, not a sea, therefore overseas status cannot be claimed ;D ;D ;D
-
Iain don't listen to these guys, I'm sure we can arrange something special for you.
Dave's right, plus breakfast and lunch catered on sight. Motels within 20 minutes.
Evening entertainment yet to be organised
-
Any club wanting a video of the track, we can send a copy of the Blokesworld segment filmed at the QLD Classic/Post Classic titles
-
and have to endorse Connondale also the week before - beautiful place that is.
-
Just taking the piss guys , we will be there for both . It will be my first competition since Crystal Brook 4 years ago mmm better see if any of the bikes still work .
-

-
you need that A
-
you need that A
I know Ive got 1\2 the money together , I'll have all by xmas . that's a idea I can buy it for my xmas pressie .
-
Iain, having sailed yachts professionally through the gap between Australia and your country in all kinds of weather I can take the observation that its got water as far as you can see, big waves, and often wild conditions. So in spite of the correctness of the comments, it looks like a sea, gets big waves like a sea, and behaves like a sea, it's a b... sea. So yes, there will be some recognition of you guys as "overseas" contestants.
-
Is CD12 on the same weekend as the Australia Classic titles 2016, if that is true, that will be a balls up.
-
Dave read Replies 2 & 15, what suggests to you they are on the same weekend?
-
I was told, both events where on the same weekend, just checking, I call brisbane tonight to find out. thank you super senior.
-
Dave, PM sent
-
Looking forward to this one, would be one of the best tracks for VMX around right now. IMO better than Conondale.
-
PM sent
-
First innovation (thanks Dave), an all British race
Host club, Brisbane MCC has an HJH (Welsh), two Greeves, three Cheney Triumphs, one BSA B50, three Triumph Mettises, three CCMs, one Ariel, one B33, plus a couple of Bantams, Villiers etc.
Bring them out, and to add to the fun we'll run a handicap start to even it out.

Krikey - Classic or Post Classic?
-
Krikey - Classic or Post Classic?
All sorted now :)
-
Hey Col
Any chance that pre 78 can have age classes this year?
-
Yes Mick, there will be age based results and awards for Pre78. Age groups in Pre78 at this point are not an MA "class" so may not get MA medals
-
There are too many classes already, even after the split.
Would rather see less classes, and more or slightly longer races, subject to track suitability.
Age racing is great, but should probably be kept where it is in pre-75 to avoid burdening down the awards table and extending the already-packed presentation marathon :)
-
disagree - presentation issues aside age racing is the way to go - to keep the 20 year olds away from the old farts like me ;D - and give over on the longer races as well ;D
-
to keep the 20 year olds away from the old farts like me
they wont stay away from you, because they will be in the Open class's as well.
if it was your son's you'd have a WOW of a time, bar to bar with them. . :D
-
they certainly will Ali if I concentrate on the age classes ;D
-
Presentation will be streamlined, to avoid dragging on. Age racing is what keeps the sport going. There is room for all but the stats show where the numbers are.
-
especially if age classes are extended to pre 78 ;D
-
As stated my reply 33, there will be age classes in Pre78. May not be split up same as Pre75, actual age brackets to be decided
-
Modern MX
At the recent Conondale GP (October 10th) the "Vets" had a full grid.
Of course "Vets" was "over 35"! If I was 36 I'd probably happy (ecstatic!?!), but I'm over 50.
There seemed to be plenty of "older" riders and I think the cut off for "Vets" could be raised a bit, or a second class created.
Modern Supermoto
At the Aussie champs in June, there were plenty of 50+ competitors for a class. An under subscribed 45-50yo class meant they were combined. 45 is still a long way from 35, especially in MX with 20 min motos.
You don't stop riding because you get old. You get old because you stop riding.
-
I agree that pre 78 doesn't need age groups..from the last 4 nats i have been to..there aren't enough pre 78 entries to support age group racing..
-
fair enough Watto - if that is the case - however if numbers can justify it.............................
-
Guys there will be Pre78 age awards, format will be decided closer to the event.
-
From the Classic Scramble Club members about 10 at this stage are plain of making the trip next year, in that lot 6 pre 65 rider, and 14 pre 65 bikes. pre 78 bike, and pre 75 bikes.
-
we don't have age classes in the sidecars....the old boys just have to get fitter.
BTW, we will have sidecars at both classic and post classic events and will even field some pre68s but maybe only 2 or 3.
-
Pre68 sidecars will each get a medal no matter what, as will Pre60 solos

Sroll down to Classic Motocross
-
To avoid any confusion, entrants in Pre75 classes will automatically be put into the appropriate age group as per GCRs at no further cost. So a Pre75 rider can race in both open and age. Age groups with 10 or more will be pointed as a championship class, with less will be pointed as support class.
-
Hi Col.
will that apply to pre 70 rider who wants to ride pre 70 bike in pre 75 age race,
how can I indicate this on entry?
also what if I am Happy to only ride in age class and not championship class?
-
Noel, you enter your pre70 bike in Pre70 and Pre75 (that's two classes). You state your age and in the Pre75 class we will put you in your age category. Whether you ride open Pre75 is up to you. A lot of guys only do their age classes
-
Still nothing on Nominate.com.au.. ??? ???
-
It is, two below CD12
-
Its Queensland it only gets that cold in the other states.
-
https://www.nominate.com.au/mcycle/Eventinfo.aspx?Event=654 (https://www.nominate.com.au/mcycle/Eventinfo.aspx?Event=654)
-
OK.. and now it is not open until the 19th..
-
I printed mine off from M.A & posted it in. Zero stress & only $1.00 for a stamp.
K
-
Just entered on Nominate no problem
-
I just tried to enter also.. was going to charge me an extra $20 for the age group races.. Am I doing something wrong..?? also there appears to be two listings for the pre 75 250 race.. one saying 250 Open..and the other saying 250 all ages.. any ideas..??
-
Yes having some glitches. Anyone who gets overcharged will
be corrected
-
Should be fixed now. Nominate system couldnt cope with free age group option.
-
flights and accommodation for both the Nats and Classic Dirt book, just waiting on the bikes. Fully sponsored rider this year. Sounds good but will make no difference to the result, just a big smile
Barry
-
Entry done, party time!!!
-
Entries close soon so get them in. no late entries accepted.
-
Hey Super Senior No 1! Start thinking about this years Nepean two day charity meet August! See you there!
-
I'll come to Nepean if you'll come to Harrisville :-)
-
West Aussies bikes all loaded in the container and heading to Qld this week. Riders will follow by air and Costa Lindgren doing the road trip with bikes in tow (might take him a while, I believe there are potentially dozens of pubs between Perth and Harrisville!!!!).
-
hope they don't meet up with Ron and Stewie on the way. Aussie Championships may be held on the Hay Plains
-
I am hoping there is a generator curfew in the camping area, like 6pm.
Nothing wrecks a good night out around the fire like the sound of generators.
-
Very pleasing entry for the 25 Anniversary Classic titles with 83 Pre 75 machines, about 20 for the "Best of British", and "championship" qualifying numbers in all machine classes including sidecars
Dave Alsop, John Boag, David Hull, Daryl Jones and Bill Holm all who rode at Dargle in 1991 are riding at this one.Bill is actually riding the same TM125 he rode back then 25 years ago
-
Add Tony Cullen to the "originals" who is also riding the same bike as 1991

thanks Noel :)

What a great event at an awesome track. Saturday's conditions could not have been better, no dust till very late in the day & no dirt on your bike. The rain held off until the last 4 or 5 races of the day on Sunday, luckily for me I was done by then. Must have been a tad tricky for the guys in those last few events.
I finished mid pack in both classes which I'm more than happy with given my body is half busted plus I damaged my right foot walking round the pits on Friday, unbelievable!
Fantastic event, fantastic people, fantastic racing.
Coudo's to all organisers, officials & of course competitors.
Anyone half thinking about going to the post classics in August, just do it, I'm sure it will be well worth the effort. I'm heading back up in November for the Masters Games (my last rides for about a year before a hip operation) but am doing the sums to see if I can possibly wangle the time off for August as well, & still be able to pay the bills.
Once again, big thanks & congratulations to all involved.
Cheers,
K

BigK, thanks for the kind words, but Post Classics are in July 23/24. Entries are rolling in already and we hope you can make it up again
-
Missed catching up with you Big K. Caught up with heaps of Mexicans and enjoyed helping an old mate, John Selva. Glad you enjoyed the weekend and got out before the big rains. If you need a crash pad in August give me a holler.

The laps times on the mylaps site seem pretty quick. Pre75 open top speed over 130km/hr? Or am i reading it wrong
-
My mistake on the date for the post classics Col, sorry for that. Good to put a face to the name Tossa. I'm still up on the Gold Coast, finding hard to get motivated for the drive home tomorrow.
K
-
Paul, just take it and you can brag about it for years
-
I looked at those speeds too, it appears it adds the average speed per lap by the number of laps ie: if you averaged 40kmh each lap and did 3 laps it will show 120kmh. I know I wasn't hitting over 100kmh for sure!
-

The speeds are totally stuffed up. They have the length of the track at 5 klms to. Track length is about 2 lkms. Also that wouldn't be top speeds anyway it is meant to be average speed of the lap.
