Title: Don Jones RIP
Post by: Maico31 on July 29, 2008, 08:44:21 pm
I read on one of the US websites that Don Jones, the father of Gary, 4 time AMA motocross champ from the seventies passed away this week. Don was one of the people responsible for the development of the Yamaha works bikes that the YZ250a and YZ360a were produced from. I'm sure many racers from the seventies remember how big the Jones family was in that time.

Don was the true father of the YZ Yamaha, no matter what Torsten Hallman may say. Another early pioneer exits stage left. He'll be missed.

What were his sons' names again?  Gary was one, he was big in the day.
