Can't find the crush ring for the DG exhaust....... any material or solution will sort this out?
Thanks,
Jacky

if you mean in the exhaust port, muffler centres keep a range of circular flange gasket rings in odd sizes, might be a tad thick for tooeys, but check anyway if theres one close to you, :P
-
Jacky, try Repco. Recently needed exhaust gaskets and after trying every bike shop in town I finally tried them. Showed the guy the old gasket,he went out the back and returned with a handful. "How many do you need?" was his reply. Can't hurt to try them
-
But the stock crush ring is too big for the DG's exhaust flange.

Hey Mick, Jacky's just learning mate. He hasn't even started to fossilize yet. He's only 15 ;D
I sold seven of my bikes in the past year. We need fresh blood, if I am to have any chance of selling the rest ;D
Welcome aboard Jacky and good luck with your exhaust mate :)

Hey Jacky ....I take it your talking about the IT250K??, I just used High heat copper silicone on mine........the standard ring never seals that good even on a new stock exhaust. Just make sure you clean the surfaces with prepsol or brake cleaner etc first
-
BTW these are not a flange gasket......more a spigot gasket, an o ring would be more effective perhaps

stopped my leaking DG :)

Yeah ITDOG, I'm talking about my IT250K
What did you do to stop the DG pipe leaking?
-
How did you spray the pipe to make it shiny and nice??
It's a nice bike. I have one in similar condition. Better than the new bikes.

How good is that 8) 8)

Where should I smear some of the silicone? exhaust port?
-
In the pipe at the step that sits up against the exhaust port, let it sit for about 1/2 hour or so to form a skin then fit to the bike. I do that to my CZ & it's perfectly sealed, my YZ465 which has a DG exhaust needs to be done every few rides though otherwise starts leaking again.
I had to shorten the piece that sits over the exhaust on mine as it was way too long
-
And let it cure for 24 hours before you try and start it.
-
who can wait that long
-
The people who didn't do it the first three times and had it blow out again?
Not from experience or anything. Just heard the story..
