Title: TL 200
Post by: YUMASTEPSIDE on July 24, 2008, 12:45:10 pm
Building a bit of a play bike using whatever parts I have or can swap/scrounge.Basically TL125 frame, triples and outer cases,XL185 bottom end, head and rockers with CT200 (YES , THOSE PULL START SHITS OF THINGS )barrel and piston and head stay.I want to use it just to putt around and maybe a bit of rockclimbing.Don't panic, I'm not destroying a good TL ,I found the frame and bits lying in a blokes paddock !!!!

Great concept there putting those motor bits together in a TL frame.
My 2 cents worth:
The combination of increased rake due to the longer forks raising the front and reduced trail due to the leading axle forks will probably make the steering feel pretty strange.

if it does feel strange(the steering ;D),reverse the forks for trailing axle n try that?? ;)

At this point its only set up so I can roll it about,it will have longer shocks(possibly slightly laid down). Once everything is set up properly and works it will be stripped, painted etc.
As an average family sort of bloke ,none of my bikes are anything fancy,I can't justify the money to buy xcel rims or 900 dollar pipes, especially on bikes that are purely for my enjoyment.I don't begrudge this of the people who can spend this sort of money ,but I think I enjoy the chasing of parts and seeing what I can build out of nothing.

The reservoir shocks were CT200,not worth shit, but now will cost you $600 each if you buy them as replacement parts from honda.......un-f%#$ing-believable..........$1200 would buy a lot better shocks than those !!!
I've seen reservoir shocks mounted both ways...........I'm talking about bikes, deviate !!!
Building bikes from whatever I have is,unfortunately , a neccessity.Everything is on account..........on account that I have no money !
