Without trying to sound like a FKIA, have you used it before?
Maxima 927 is far better castor oil.

Certainly does....and it's the choice of oil in the Go Kart world......and they rev twice as hard as most VMX bikes.

Castrol stopped making the R30 some years ago. If you can find any now, it will be old stock. Good luck.

They only make R40 now "as a service to our customers" .... so I am informed !

There are a few brands that do a castor based oil. Maxima is one Castrol do "747", Rock oil "Cart Castor 100", Shell Advance racing M and Rock oil do a straight castor called Racing caster that will mix with petrol or methanol.
A few to choise from if you can't find R30.

Like BigK says, any bike shop or chamber builder can order it in for you.
Castrol still list it on their 2015 web site

The rotary engine boys run R30 in their cars over here in NZ . Don't know why though, maybe it's the smell factor aswell

R30 is not highly refined leaves lots of striations I think they are called(verticle lines) on the skirt from the inclusions. Thats in a water cooled engine, air cooled don't seem to suffer from that problem. Castrol A747 is a better oil doesn't seem to be listed on the Castrol website. R30 was used in many gearboxes and think it was the 60's Hondas that would not finish the IOM TT without R30 in the gearbox
