I think there is a process to weld magnesium. Just have to be very careful. There is also industrial Devcon. They use it in refineries on wear plates etc.. its tough stuff.

Magnesium covers can be welded with no problems by a weldor with a TIG. They don't catch fire.
The break and surrounding area has to be completely free of oil and back to bright metal that has been filed, or cleaned with a burr, not power brushed, and magnesium filler rod used.

I have all the gear for welding magnesium. Simply post it to me and I will repair it and post it back.

Anyone have the specific part number/details of the Devcon that's suitable for magnesium? i got some parts that i think are beyond welding but i may be able to salvage with Devcon. Thanks

Devcon pretty exy but will last for years in the kit. I use the ally based one, have had the same kit for 15 years. It dried out sometime ago and refreshed it with acetone, good as gold.. Its about $80 buck for the kit I think. You will get it from any good industrial supplier.

So this putty?

I don't care out the price because i gotta try and fix these parts somehow because they are proving impossible to find.

The stuff I use is called Devcon "FasMetal 10 HVAC 19770" Epoxy repair putty.

This one come in 2 tubes and mixes into a dark grey cream that sticks to just about anything. If I have to fill a hole I just use masking tape on one side and and then fill it up from the other side.
