See You a Canberra to Find Out .
-
Yep, Dennis is right, there's a great little area up at the canteen for gathering by the fire. As for the track, I was riding there on Thursday and it was superb. If we have a little rain in the week before it should be tops. The track is so improved over how it used to be a few years back. Lovely, loamy surface in most places with more traction than you could ever need.
I'm keen, I'm fit, the RM is perfect. New clutch, suspension sorted, all is ready to go. Bring it on!
-
Yes indeed, bring on the re-match!
Assuming you're not scared?
:P ;D
-
Ummm... what are you going to be riding? I nearly had you last time but I reckon that you cheated, that's no DT125. I reckon you've got a 175 top end on that thing...
-
:D
Funny, I was going to accuse you of not having an RM125, but they didn't make big wheel RM80s back then did they? ;D
Hmmm.... wonder if I should drag out the MX100A to beat you with this time... :D
-
Yes well... at that last round here, the RM wasn't running so well. And I was crook. And it rained.
But this time... quite a different thing.
I'd suggest bring the MX100, but you might slip a 400 donk in there, just to give you a fighting chance. I might even enter the RM in the Post-Classic 125s as well just to give Meyers a good floggin'.
In fact, I'm so keen to get out there and kick Yamaha butt that I've sent my entry off right this moment.
-
Ok bring it on .
-
:o
Them thar fightin words :D
-
G'day viewers just wondering how much to ride on Saturday for myself and Tom I can't get the bloody printer >:( to work to fill out the entry form.jimson

see, 125s are where its at now. All the best people are riding one. So just watch those 125 races, that's where the real manly action is. No point bothering with all the blouses riding 500s and stuff. Those guys have to use bulk power to make up for their lack of real finesse. No wonder girls flock to 125 jockeys, we can use what we've got. Well, except for that Nathan character, but we let him ride cos it's good for the little bloke.
-
Thanks Noel I'll see if I can make it.jimson

OK all you Canberians (is that a word?) you know who I mean, how about a weather report or even a track report ??
-
Ummm... cold and possibly damp. Forecast is for a max of 9 and possible showers with snow on the nearby ranges. That said they've forecast showers most of this week and we've not had much. The track should be OK, last time I was on it a week or two back it was really nice. Might be a bit rutted in places but should be nice. I reckon we'll have a blast!
Just right to give Nathan a spankin...
-
Giday
Oldstuff 30 and sunny as all ways for the weekend ::) just like last round?
-
wHEN IS THIS AND HOW FAR A DETOUR FROM YASS IS IT ?
fREAKY IS PASSIN THRPOUGH frI OR sAT MORNING, MIGHT DETOUR IF ITS NOT FAR OFF THE TRACK
?

Freaky we will be free riding Saturday, racing Sunday. The track is just outside Queanbeyan on the road to Canberra International Airport, about 1-1.5 hours from Yass.

So I just been grading and leaveing the track so if we do get any rain
it will be fine.
To day I by pass the wooops so all good there.
so the track will be all nice come saturday.
The weather man keeps saying chance of a shower .
To Nole #No2
I have found a Nomad in my back yard . It was Very Happy
with a shed of Fine Austrian made Bikes .
It may not like to come home with you now I have convert it .
Will Bring it on week end .
Dennis.
-
Hope all you HEAVEN riders are tuff. Tomorrow is looking good, but Sunday... The weather man reckons a max of 7 and snow. That could be cool, racing in snow eh? It probably won't come to that, but you never know, do you?
-
Im so tuff i just booked a motel room :)
-
Hey Rosco for a change your not Robinson Cruso
-
Nah its even to cold for the beaver

I remeber last round racing Snowy 76 in torrential hail that looked just like snow, that nearly counts ;D
-
Ahh its all good as long as its not yellow snow.
-
Hard snow last round , Soft snow this round? There must be some weather proof flaging points :'(
-
Just Back from the track and its looking Good.
Dry on Top and Moist under.
Race Will be Hot .
-
Anyone got a pre-70 race bike that I can borrow...
The electronic ignition conversion onto the CT1 has turned to poop. >:(
Am I eligible to score points if I run around the track?
-
Come On You Can Not Get Points For Running around a track .
Its Not the 100m Sprint.
This is Canberra Not Beijine China Nathan
-
As long as your on the bike when cross the finish line your OK. ;D
-
how was it today guys any reports or pics? I'm all packed for Sunday including beanie, spray jacket and snow chains, can't wait.
-
we are all interested to see if you got snow?
-
Well, that was COLD. We didn't quite get snow but it was close, plenty of sleet and even some sort of light hail. But not enough to dampen the track too much, and by lunchtime we had sunshine. The track came up a treat after that, and I think everyone had a good time of it.
But at 9 AM when it was cold, grey and hailing, it didn't look so good at all. I did three laps of practice and couldn't feel my hands or feet!
I also have to publicly declare Nathan the better man. He kicked my butt soundly for 4 out of 4. I think he qualifies as genuinely fast now. I am not sure but I think I saw him right on Noel's tail in the last Classic 125 race... How'd it end up guys?
-
snow on the side of Lake George and on the side of the road to nearly Murulan on the way home,
Nathan and Noel Had 1 win each, the last race was a cracker
Cheers
-
Like Graeme said very cold especially when being on a moving bike haha ;D Still the best time i've ever had riding a bike top weekend and i have some picks to prove it ;) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/100_1548.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/100_1549.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/4.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/100_1551.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/100_1554.jpg) and im sure theres plenty more to come :D Tom
-
I also have to publicly declare Nathan the better man.
No, no, no, NO! Its not fun if you concede! :D Seriously, I've gotta say that Matt Haskins' lessons seem to have improved Graeme's speed a whole lot... A third (and a 5th?) place from a decent sized grid of pre-78 125s was
Had an up-and-down day, but yeah, it was a truck load of fun.
I was running a distant forth to Noel and Jens in the first Classic 125 race, when first Neville's CR died, and then Jens' KX locked solid and took Noel out with him. Well fork me, I'm going to win a race. And I did, although it was somewhat anti-climactic, given the way it happened. Impressively, Noel climbed back to 2nd, despite being a long way behind when he got going again.
The second race was a lot more interesting and even more fun. Basically, it went down to the wire between Noel and I, but he came out in front.
No matter, it was awesome fun. :)
And now my X has been added to the list of bikes to never sell...
The "YZ175D" was also there, but with a 125 top end. It's awesome, despite the 5-speed gear box.
The DT175A racer has a lot of potential, but needs a better gearbox and work on the forks to show anything like its potential.
Anyhow, good day, good people, good fun.
Two thumbs up, will ride again!
-
My speed may have improved, but I can see that I am still far too slow in tight corners in particular. In fact I think that may be why poor old Neville collected me from behind and tasted dirt as a result. That said, the speed of the ACT guys continues to surprise me. They just keep on improving. I suppose there is some home track advantage at work, but Dennis, Bill and Nathan were all impressively fast yesterday. Simon too is quick but we already knew that. By the same token, everyone out there yesterday was circulating at decent speed. I know when HEAVEN first rolled inot Canberra a few years back there weren't too many guys clearing the tabletops, but these days everyone does. Watching from my flaggie's point I got to see first hand how quick a decent Evo or Pre 85 field is nawadays. Great stuff everyone!
-
Yeah, gotta agree with that, particularly on the comment about Bill. He might be about as old as his riding number, but he gets along bloody well, particularly on that 250 Evo bike of his!
Don has taken a big step foward too, with a string of second places in the Evo 250 and Evo open races, and leading Peter Lovering for nearly a full lap!
Young Tom's greatly improved too - made it past the first corner every time... :D
Darran M (I think?) had a big crash over the second of the two back-straight table-tops. I didn't see what went wrong, but I did see a remarkably good impersonation of a sack of potatoes as he landed... Glad to see him back on the bike for his next race.
Any more pics Tom/Jimson/anyone else?
-
yeah nathan you best believe it and the remarkable thing was it was on a yamaha haha joking mate nice ride your bike is and alot quicker you have gotten i've also noticed ;D there are some more pics if they load up right :-[ http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/S6301347.jpg[/img] (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/S6301367.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/S6301366.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/S6301363.jpg) (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg99/Tombailey18/S6301362.jpg) im hoping to see some more photos aswell possibly even fottage if were lucky :D Tom

Well Round 6 Was a bit cold with a over night temp of -4.5 and a

The -4.5 did not stop the Bench raceing and the DVD for the

The nice wide open MX track at Canberra made Good Raceing

If anyone needs a demonstration of the effort the Canberra Guys will put into the Classic dirt track Nats,
At this Last Heaven (Club) round after the fire and Video's with 1/4 inch of frost on the ground,
as the last of us tottered of to our warm sleeping bags,
oz555ktm hopped on the tractor and did and hour or so track grooming sorting out the few patches that
suffered in practice so we had a brilliant track for Sunday,
Just Fantastic enthusiasm,
Cheers
