Title: Classic Dirt 11 - are you planning to ride?
Post by: AjayVMX on May 13, 2015, 08:44:52 am
Hi everyone.  Well we are now less than a month away from Classic Dirt 11.  And it seems like a little bit of Aussie Apathy has set in - rider registrations are somewhat disappointing.

So the time has come to let everyone know that trying to register to ride at the event (if we allow it) will cost significantly more that pre-registering.  The reason for this is that registering to ride on the day is significantly more time consuming for the organizing club.  And heavens knows that they already have plenty to do!

So here's the deal.  Pre-registering to ride for the Weekend is $40.  Registering at the event for weekend riding will cost $60.  Pre-registering for a single day's riding is $30.  Registering at the event for a single days riding will be $50.

So the time to pre-register is NOW!  It's also very easy to do.  Just click on the link below.

http://vmxmagshop.com.au/store/products/category/classic-dirt-11/ (http://vmxmagshop.com.au/store/products/category/classic-dirt-11/)

Be aware that the riding fee does NOT include entry to the event itself or MA license fees and levies.  Those costs will be paid at the event separately.

I don't think you guys will able to lend out any tools as you will be to busy

1/ trying to jet your KTM's so they run properly

2/ just getting them to go for more than one lap

There was a time when the lead up to Classic Dirt would go on for page after page.......What happened? Is everyone going but are too cool to talk about it or what? I came on here to get all sorts of updates and a bit of inspiration but there's not much going on. I really hope the vintage community support this great event, the organisers go out on a limb for us every year and I reckon it needs to be maintained as the most important event on the VMX calendar. Klub Kevlar will have the usual large variety of bikes and we will be having a hoot as usual....no blender this year unfortunately.

Im starting to think that all the negative posting on here , has just about killed the forum. It's hard to even start a happy thread without someone baiting an argument.

See you and Bernie on Wednesday Firko. We have plenty of bikes and just enough beer so all will be good.

Last minute confirmation, not working,
Mad panic to get some bikes back together,
Transporter's not finished, sleeping in the back of the ute.

Woo Hoo! Can't wait! ;D

Cheers, DJ

Not riding but looking forward to the weekend.  I will be taking a couple of pre 65 bikes with me and I am going to part with my 1984 RM 500 so if I can fit it in it will be for sale up there.   If anyones interested just call around and have a look and maybe a beer, I shouldn't be hard to find.   I'm not sure what it's worth so I'll just play it by ear and see what offers come in.

Not riding or camping this year, Too many projects on the go (if parts turn up for the guzzi) and its a local long weekend but i will ride up the hill and check out all the fine machinery and catch up with a few guys.
Weather is just starting to get a bit chilly at night but the days are clear and sunny, The weekend  looks to be the same with a possible shower on pack up day Sunday.

cheers

Packed and ready. Just had to do a quick rebuild with new engine on the 77 Kato. Now has LBR ported barrel and a Frank Crank installed. Will be interesting how it goes.

LOL thats about right Ted, But I have to say the most reliable bike I own is the Husky that thing just runs and runs , and is so dam good to ride. Shame it's a bitch to start. The little KX is sweet but needs allot of small things before its great.

Just got home from CD11 and all unpacked. Great weekend of riding and fun after getting up there Friday afternoon. All the tracks, pre78, Pre90 and the endure loops were well prepared and challenging enough for both machines and riders.

The show and Shine was underway at lunch time today with some very nice machines indeed. Perhaps next time they could put the Show and Shine on the Saturday lunch period so those that need to get away early on Sunday can enjoy as well.

Thanks heaps to all the organisers and support clubs, for a weekend away "playing bikes" you couldn't ask for any better. Perfect weather as well.

What a ripper weekend .....The show and shine bikes were all of high quality workmanship. I would have to agree the Bully was in pristine condition ( well done Mate )
It was a bit nippy Friday night, nothing a good fire couldn't fix, and Saturday night was nice and warm.... Good band and Music
Thankyou  to all the volunteers  that gave up their weekend so we could enjoy ourselves, ::) and to the sweep rider that dragged me out of the bush  :-[

Top weekend, caught up with some mates from interstate and also meeting a few more, even some who frequent this forum.   Weather was good, heaps of cool bikes, some good bits for sale and tracks looked to be in top condition chuck in a  good fire of a night and a few to many beers and a nice warm bed all made for your typical Classic Dirt meeting.
I had a couple of problems on the drive up and back, the cruise control that I had fitted to my van for the trip only works if you dont have the lights on, (lights on cruise off)  The Garmin sat/nav that was given to me by the NRMA for renewing my road service cover will only recognise a location if it is in the same state. e.g. When in NSW it wont recognise Brisbane or any other town until you cross the border then it's ok with them but no longer has any idea where Sydney is. (Dumb arsed plastic box)
Anyway now looking forward to CD 12
