How long is a XT or TT500 swingarm from the center of the pivot to centre of the axle slot?

Yes to short , that's why some put longer swingarms on them.
I have a tt500 white brothers swingarm they are a little longer than the standard Tt ones

SR500 swing arm is approx 20mm longer and will fit XT/TT frame,perfect if you want to run longer shocks.
