The Queensland Classic/post Classic Championship, will be held at Harrisville on 13/14 June.
This is the weekend following CD11, so interstate and country visitors can do both.
Free camping. Free bike storage for those who do CD11 and the Championship.
Track given the stamp of approval by Australia's fastest veteran VMX rider and Queenslands oldest legend, (and everyone in between.)
So, tick the boxes, great track, free camping, social activities, $70 entry, great trophies, friendly host club, repair facilities on site.
Forget about all the Evo negativity, ain't going to be allowed to spoil this event. Got an Evo bike that passed at Echo Valley, Bendigo, or last year's Qld title (or complies ) and you are in. In fact Evo is the featured class this year and will be rewarded as such.
Covers all the comments recently aired, so just participate and all will be good.
-
Come to Brisbane MCC open practice weekend 23/24 May and dial in your bike and yourself for the titles ( or you could just have some fun)
-
Can I still cruise around and finish a lap early, cross the line in what appears to be a place and live the dream in my head??
Coz I just want to have fun!!!
Oh, and I mean no malice to anyone or to any club, just to point that out, just like to have a ride and would be a great opportunity to ride with some different folks, hopefully from a broader spectrum given CD is so close.
Also, lastly, are you riding Col, cos I get a kick out of riding around with a man of your caliber and longevity.
Nearly, Yes I am the gumby FB at the back of the pack having a great time (usually)
Cheers,
Kim 8) ;D
-
I'll accept the "longevity" compliment (I think ??) but the capability was sorely tested after my one and a half with pike at Nudgee.
Certainly we can finish you a lap early so you look famous, it's just a matter of how much money you've got.
-
Breaking news, American pro Maico rider confirmed for Harrisville.
-
TV icons and all round good guys Blokesworld are coming to the Queensland Championships and not only filming the whole event but competing as well. If you want a career in film and television this could be your big breakthrough.
-
Oooh this meeting is getting bigger and bigger, the biggest meeting in Queensland,
God starting to sound like one of those one eyed promoters, ::)
One thing for sure it will be a good HONEST, ;) meeting with QLD Titles attached to them, mates racing mates, and a club that embraces EVO for what it was ment to be
-
I was really hoping to get up to QLD for this one and even bring my EVO along as I know there will be no dramas with no zealots trying to cause shitfights......Just good old fun on old bikes 8)
However, I have been reminded that this year is our 10th Anniversary, I'm turning 50, she turning 40, and rightly so, she wants to celebrate those milestones with a holiday just for us. No bikes. No dogs. So off we go on a 2 week sight see of the outback. Coober Pedy, Uluru, Alice Springs and wherever else takes our fancy.
Have fun people!

Great to welcome Lucas Oils as Naming sponsor for the Qld Titles.
We must be as famous as the AMA/World Supercross having the same sponsor

Lucas Oils are not the naming rights sponsor of the AMA Supercross Championships, a FIM World Championship. Monster Energy is.
The AMA Motocross Championships however are sponsored by Lucas Oils, they are not the World MX Championships.
-
Ah, Kev, I should have known a tongue in cheek approach would have drawn you in.
"World Supercross Championship was conceived 2003, merged with AMA series prior to 2008 season"
"Lucas Oils Pro Motocross Championship 2015"
Lucas Oils Stadium hosted Indianapolis World/AMA Supercross round March 2015.
Lucas Oils Classic and Post Classic Championship hosted by the Brisbane MCC at Harrisville on 13/14 June.
If you find any other little things that offend you, please ensure you air them on the public forum so all may share your concerns.
In the meantime the Sup regs are available on the Brisbane MCC website. Entries can be mailed to me or emailed and signed and paid at sign on
-
well said Col ;) if only people could read, it would save a lot of wasted energy.

Is that something similar to the Conondale thing Kev which was a World championship event that turned into a challenge or the FIM sanctioned event that isn't .

Entry filled out today should be a great meeting
-
This event gets even better. It would be a real shame to miss it. looking forward to catching up with all you crazy racers and ride the best track in QLD if not Australia. :o

Just attended an evening where the guest speaker was our American guest rider. A fascinating man
-
Why don,t you tell everyone who he is Colin?
-
Hmm, US pro Maico rider ? Has the makings of a good MX trivia question . It could be the Texan, Steve Stackable, or Mickey Kessler, Darrel Schultz or Carlos Serrano (although I think he was Mexican ?).
-
Good idea Husky, I'll keep the hints going and first one to get it right gets a prize at the Qld titles
Hint 2 went from MX to Nascar.
-
Nice part of the country Tallai, my partners brother lives on Grandview terrace, great views of the Gold Coast.
-
I don't know of any other MX riders that went to Nascar, other than Ricky Carmichael, but he would be far too young to have ridden a Maico. Maybe Jeff Ward tried Nascar, but I am not sure if he ever rode a Maico back in the day either.
-
Go earlier. Became a stuntman for the movie industry
-
Viper, he lives up the rich end of town
-
Yeah, it is a bit hollywood up there.
-
Is it Gary Chaplin or Rex Staiton
-
Did he ever have any notoriety? He said he got a factory Maico ride in '81 but blew his knee out and it was all over.
-
Brad he was on CZ and then Maico from about "74 until '81. He turned pro at about 18, and retired with injuries at 24. He won both motos in the 500 Pro Class at Saddleback in '81 on Maico. He is better known as a movie stuntman, and is currently working on the Pirates of the Carribean movie, and returns to California in July (depending on Johny Depp's carryings on)
We are trying to set up a talk with him on Sat evening of the Qld C'ship and I'm sure will be open to questions.
He will do a couple of match races with a Brisbane MCC rider of similar age and both on 490 Maicos at Harrisville.
He had his first ride last weekend at Harrisville and says he had a ball, loved the track and the friendliness of the locals.
Trivia questions closed, his name Will Harper,
-
But he wouldn't get on a sidecar hahahahaha
-
His name is Willy not Silly ;D
-
Probably why he's survived so long
-
4 stroke anyone ;D
-
Qld titles will be run as per the MOMs. If your bike conforms to any class therein, you're sweet.
Evo rule is unchanged, that is same as last year, same as Echo Valley and Bendigo.
-
I've been asked by several people if you using the whole track like we did on the practice weekend or the track will be shortened like last year?????
-
Tell them to ask the people running the event.
-
I thought you were the president of the club col, I'm sure you could find out and let us no .
Thank you
-
You are right Popeye, I am president and that's why I get the big bucks. All I'm saying is the sup regs state the event. If anyone has a specific question and is planning to ride I'm happy to answer off forum.
-
I'm guessing same as last year, shorten the track, I'll let them no thanks.
-
Popeye, don't guess and mislead people. Your assumption is wrong. Any entrants or potential entrants can contact me at any time.
-

What bikes you riding mate !
-
Might not do much as hard to organise and ride (as you know), but thinking CZ for Pre 65 to make up the numbers, AW for Supersenior, and maybe?? Honda/Maico. Maybe one moto on each depending on how it goes.
-
Not misleading anyone col just asking the question, riding my sidecar and TT250 Brian.
-

Foxy he'll be fine he's only on a old slow 4 stroke, now you got your entry in for QLD Titles
-
Only a few days to close of entries. Peewee track, face painting, massage, beautifull girls, Bad Brad's Leanne's debut gig with her coffee van, ice cream truck, etc etc. You can even ride your bike on a great Classic track.
-
any news on entries??
and might the circuit be made wider for the event?
Just thinking we might now have 5 or 6 sidecars at about the same speed this year, calculating who's on with whom and how they get out the gate etc....could cause some anxious moments.
-
Looking good for the weekend, two classes under fire lately being 4 stroke and Evolution both strong entries.
Four stroke has 23 and Evolution 49. Viva la Evolution
-
That great news Col, I'm building a 4 stroke and would hate to think I couldn't use it!
Also good to see Evo is strong... a great class
-
Good luck with the event Col. Are you still on track to come over for the Nats? I think the host club are very close to getting the draft supp regs to MA soon.

Great news! Wonder how the Dooms Day Lot feel about it seeing as they are trying to kill off both classes.
-
What a fantastic meeting the QLD Titles were over the weekend! The 4 stroke class was riveting to watch with all 3 place getter winning a race each, the crowd was mesmerized with the closeness of the racing & the sound of the 4 strokes thundering around the track!
-
Its a shame Rob Smith was away with his TT , you couldn't pick a winner its that close, and hats of to the guy on the yellow TT that through its chain smashed his crank cases.Poor bugger worked till 11pm Saturday night to have her back on the start line for Sunday, and won that race.
-
Thanks to BMCC & Col in particular for helping me to get my bikes scrutineered late so I could ride Sunday.
It was great to see the 4 Stroke class well supported...
-
Got to congradulate Jason for doing so well, you are a pleasure to watch. Also realy nice to see a Suzuki put those Honda's in their place in the pre75 125 class especially since it was my bike.

He could make a pram look good!

Yes the meeting was fantastic and owe a big thank you to Greg Mitchell. The rain. Saturday also helped, but without Greg's effort Saturday afternoon/evening the track would not have been as good as it was Sunday. Also thank you Utia (I hope I spelt it correct) for the meal Saturday night it was great.
As for the Four Stroke of the fourteen listed in the program for the Pre 90 4/- class, only eight started in the races. The Pre 75 4/- had three starters. That is the facts. It is always easy to distort the facts.
-
There were only 7 or 8 entries in pre 75 125, pre 78 125, pre 78 250, pre 85 125 so that is a good showing for the 4 strokes by comparison.
-
there was only 7 sidecars too, but the racing was awesome which ever way you looked at it.
