Title: FOR SALE - CR500RE
Post by: John Orchard on April 28, 2015, 01:57:36 pm
Yes I only just built it up, selling it as some nagging injuries have got worse and am looking at more operations.

This CR was a very low use bike from California before I went through it.

* Fresh rebuilt engine, new bearings & seals. Anything not perfect inside I replaced.
* 89.50mm wiseco piston in good bore.
* Head has squishband mod.
* Stealy flywheel weight.
* Hi-flow reed cage with Boyesen reeds.
* New '01 kickstart gears & ratchet mechanism.
* 85/86 longer kickstart lever.
* DG pipe & muffler.
* .45kg fork springs (suit 88kg rider).
* 7.2kg rear shock spring (suit 88kg rider).
* Rear shock just had oil change.
* New rear suspension linkage bushes.
* New front & rear wheel bearings.
* All new gears in gearbox.
* New clutch plates.
* Barnett heavy-duty clutch springs.
* New Unifilter airfilter.
* New seat cover.
* New fork bushes, seals & boots.
* New Answer 'holeshot' front race plate.

SPARES INCLUDED ...
1 x kickstart lever.
1 x gearlever.
2 x rear brake pedals.
1 x rear sprocket.
1 x front sprocket.
1 x RH sidecover.
1 x front guard.
1 x front number plate.
8 x tank decals.
1 x new Uniflter airfilter.
Misc gearbox parts.

Only negative aspect about the bike is one side frame tube dented under engine, frame could do with a good paint job and the plastics show use/age.

$4900

Sorry for any confusion, as it didn't sell straight away, I started changing a few things on the bike to see if I could make it easier for me to handle, almost finished making the few improvements/changes, if I can't man-up to ride it properly then I will sell it.  The bikes is lucky to have done 30 mins riding since doing all the above work.

John,

Just put your forks on an '83 CR480 and holeshot to your hearts content.  ;)

Are totally out of the Old Bike game?

Not "out" Jay, just sitting-back re assessing the environment  ;-)
