Post by: Iain Cameron on April 26, 2015, 11:17:20 pm
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1981-Yamaha-SR250-Full-Ground-up-Rebuild-Bobber-Custom-Chopper-/301609067160?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item46394d2298
check out the rear guard stays , mounted to the bottom of the shock mounts to the guard . every bump the guard is going to move . some of these so called total rebuilders need just a few basic truths told to them . Iain

Looks fine to me, the fender is not mounted to the frame anywhere, its mounted to the swing arm behind the battery box and the two vertical fender brackets, Sorry be working on Harleys, its a rear mud guard in English.

You lot need your eyes checked, see ya tomorrow Bazza!

Clearly there is very little suspension movement, the clearance between the guard and the frame below the seat is appears to be minimal.  The above post is a load of shit or rust.  Does eBay permit submissions like this.

Tossa's new Vinduro bike? Are people really paying that sort of money for bikes like this? The old saying "caveat emptor" has never been more appropriate!

Did anybody watch the porn show on TV wednesday night, a fellow wheeled in a 73 Husqvarna cr 400, sold it for $150, then they took it around to these
bling fitters, and cut it up and made a chopper out of it, and charge Hoss, $8000. the mine set of people. (Why)

Gotta pass a roadworthy up here before reg  Fred and that one is nowhere near legal. :o

Buyer wasted his money.

Guy in Amerika scored a straight 84 WR400 Lc twin shock  husky and is in the process of turning it into a CR.
First up he cut the rear loop off.  :'( :'(

Nothing like a bit of porn on a Wednesday night.
That will do me. That has to be THE worst miss spell of the century.

If you want to get your mind all bitter and twisted about the bobber trend and what they do to old bikes, have a look at this weekends 'Throttle Roll' in Sydney, its on again tommorrow.

Search 'Throttle Roll Sydney 2015 ' on mr Google.

Luckily they don't usually hack up the best old bikes, but only because they cant afford them.

There are some clever people out there with a good eye for design & detail.
(unfortunately, there are many, many more with absolutely No Idea at all)
The Ape Hangered SR250 is a cheap and nasty copy of one previously done by a custom shop.
(I don't fancy either of them)

The real test, I guess, is would you be embarrassed to be seen riding it, by people who Know Bikes. 8)

BultacoMacca would you ride this one, down along the Esplanade on a sunny Sunday afternoon?

I know I would. :D

We shouldn't get too indignant about anybody modifying the Yamaha SR250.
They were a pretty ugly & awkward looking dog!

Here are a couple that are a bit better looking and a lot more VMX friendly.

The Trail Bike (with shades of DT1)

Mick, you must live in a much more "Trendy" Suburb.  :o

My 'Esplanade' has Fish & Chip shops, kids on bicycles, Oldies walking dogs, boats on trailers, street machines & the occasional Hot Rod. 8)
