hi .can anyone tell if gearbox same in 82 and 83 125,s yz,s I heard same from 82 to 85 is this true .thanks don.

Check cross-reference here;

Quick look says Shift cam is the same for 80-85 YZ's & some IT's. Shift forks are 82-85

Main axle says it's for 82 only but 1st pinion is the same so it may be some minor change.

As too for 4th & 6th gear but 3&4 pinion & 6th pinion are all the same.

So I would say 82-85 will fit BUT not guaranteeing it.
