Title: Suzuki rm CDI unit identification
Post by: Tomas on March 12, 2015, 03:33:21 pm
Is there any way to identify Suzuki rm CDI units? I have two black (plastic casing) CDI units, but they have no part numbers to identify them.  I can only guess what bike they suit by comparing them with pictures from part fiches. Any ideas?

Most of the early RM's up to '81 had steel case. After that they went 'flatish' shape plastic. Early TM/TS had 'squarish' shaped black plastic.  Without a number it's pretty much anyone's guess.

True Doc. I have the steel cased one with part number printed on it on one bike. The black square plastic ones were used from 81 onwards as you have mentioned and have no part number or any form of identification printed. I have two that look identical. Only diference is cable harness length.
