Post by: YZ250H on March 11, 2015, 01:21:37 pm

T - if they have remote reservoirs don't think they comply to answer your question

Is 'piggyback' not remote?  What about Yam Thermal flows?

They would be an exception to the rule as they are from the period.
A lot of those cheap shocks are useless for a VMX bike and barely have 3" stroke. I don't get why they waste all that length on such long lower eyes. I've seen a few brands like that. Do your research carefully to see if you are not going to end up with less travel than what the original shocks give you.

Yamaha Thermoflows used to be specifically mentioned in the MoMS as being allowed and not basically anything else. Don't know what’s what now but... I would say no to the pictured ones.

Tim is correct . Thermo Flows were specifically mentioned as allowable.. but all of that text about shocks has now been deleted and does not appear in the 2015 MOMS.. may have been deleted some years ago.....now just talks about shocks in original mounting position.. so ..whilst they IMHO look like shit.. and don't represent the era.. I would say they are legal.. :-*

Thanks for the input fellas.  I'm just after some replacement shocks to hold the rear tyre off the guard.  I will have a look at other alternatives and see what I can come up with.

The general consensus is these ones are poop  ;D

People would only see them on the start line or when they are lapping me  ;D

I bought a set just to see how far they are in development . Waiting for your report after use .

I've decided not to buy them for now Walter.  I'm considering my other options.
