Keep in mind that the compliance plate number is supposed to match the number stamped on the frame too on Suzukis.
-
My plates are next to stamped frame and do not match on both bikes.
-
what reg and what state are you in?
-
Keep in mind that the compliance plate number is supposed to match the number stamped on the frame too on Suzukis.
My plates are next to stamped frame and do not match on both bikes.
So does that mean that the frame number on the frame isn't identical to the frame number on the compliance plate ?
-
I got 6 suzukis and all the compliance plates have the number matching the frame number
My plates are next to stamped frame and do not match on both bikes
I would say either someone broke a frame and replaced it or 'lost' the comp plate and stuck another one on it.
-
when you get a rwc inspection they will check that they match up
-
Compliance plate requirement for registered motorcycles sold in Australia was introduced for motorcycles produced on or after
the 1st October 1976 .
Frame # / ID # stated on compliance plate must match frame / ID number of the bike.

if your in Victoria and chasing club reg or recreational reg you do not need a compliance plate
-
The engine number won't match on a pe but the frame neck number and Comp plate always do you won't need the plate for rego installing one not from the bike will come across as dodgy illegal to do.
They don't look at the comp plate if you are worried take some photos of where it normally is they will see the rivets every time I have taken Vic roads a car or bike they only wanted to see the vin and engine number.
-
so can i get a TM250 1974 registered in NSW, if it has the correct lights etc?
-
Every time I have taken bikes to Vic Roads, new or old, to be registered or re-registered, they ALWAYS check the compliance plate for the date. They rarely check that the frame number matches though. I have done this hundreds of times.

You won't need a compliance plate prior to 76 as they didn't exist earlier.
However it will have to meet all of the rego requirements
Getting a bike registered without one should be easier if you have proof it had previously been registered.

If your talking about NSW - good luck with that ! we're talking the biggest nanny state on the planet and every rms officer/engineer you talk will have a different interpretation depending on how they feel on the day ::)
-
thanks for feedback I,m in nsw .they don't make it easy here.
-
im in nsw guys bike is ready for rego with everything working lights blinkers everything but compl plate missing.u would think that approval no for an 81 pe175 would be same no on every 81pe175 .just engine and frame no,s different for each one. can someone at least tell me the approval no..thanks don.

I saw somewhere that the new vic historic reg rules require a compliance plate. :'( I will have to forward pay the rego!!!
