Title: springs out of 35mm betor forks need help

pulled my forks apart today to replace the fork seals
cant get the springs out either side
also one of the bottom allen screws had rubber all over it will the leak from the bottom hole
have flat washer and spring washer on them

Install a 6mm screw through the lower fork drain access threaded hole, gently wind it in till the screw nudges the inner alloy tube , carefully tighten up ,then remove the retaining Allen bolt from bottom of fork leg.If no luck, tighten the screw a fraction.The whole spring and damping assembly should be able to be withdrawn from the top.

If the spring is out a long flat blade screwdriver will be able to engage the damper , so as the Allen bolt can be undone.

i have the lower legs off that was easy but want to take the springs out of the top but they seem to be attached to the danpmer.and there is a circlip on the bottom of the top leg seams to be holding it all in place

If you are just changing the seals you don't need to take the damper rod or the springs out
It does sound odd though to have the fork spring stuck to the top of the damper rod
You should be able to take the damper rod and spring out the top end without removing the circlip, but if you do take the circlip out, you should be able to remove the damper rod and spring via either end of the tube

Maybe the incorrect springs are fitted?

Something doesn't sound right. If you have removed the lowers from the legs and you still can't get the spring and dampening rod out, something must be jamming it in there. The circlip on the rod is for removing the valving only. You should be able to remove from the top of the leg without any force but it seems like maybe the wrong diameter spring is jammed in the leg?

from working on this bike it dosent supprise me 1 little bit
this flattracker was built at a large mid west usa triumph shop
i think they built it from what they had on hand
here is the best bit i have found out
its converted to a 750
tr6 crankcases and crank
t140 rods pistons and barrell, sleve machined(hand ground)to fit 650 cases
cant go over 3 oversize need a new barrell then
