Title: Sidecover Decals
Post by: Johns on July 17, 2008, 10:16:58 am
Hi from Johns:-

Can anyone tell me what i can spray onto my TT500 sidecovers, so that i can actually move my decals  around to the correct position before the glue dries?

Thank you.

The company I work for shares premises with a sign company and he uses a VERY dilute mixture of water and dish washing liquid in a spray bottle and he slides decals that are up to 3 metres across  :o :o

Thats the trick. We used to use soap and water to fit the Sandman stripes on Vans and utes many years ago. Makes swipping airlocks out to edges much easier as well.

Another way i have seen stickers put on is by hanging the sticker with masking tape and moving it around till in the right position. then cutting the masking tape at the edge of the sticker which then gives you a marker to line up with again...if you can understand that.

I was talking to my signwriter mate about this on the weekend and he said to make sure you use a very pure soap like Sunlight, and not very much of it. A few drops only in one of those 1/2 litre mist spray bottles.

If you have to work bubbles out use a credit card or similar wrapped in a piece of cloth.
