Is the inlet valve not seating properly?

Very interesting, if it was methanol, would there be a visible flame?

Good question, Methanol flame is not visible/well not perceptible in sunlight, inside the squishy pop bang bits it should be dark, (no sun, electric light bulbs, glowing stingray proboscises etc.) , therefore it should be visible. ;)

What about the itty bitty little lights in there for the cameras Tim?     Shut up >:( ::)

  Doesn't look like much overlap.

How cool is that  8) It's one thing to have a handle on how the 4 stroke works but to actually see it happening is something else.
Yeah, it does look like the inlet valve isn't seating properly. Or maybe it's just fuel residue hanging around the seat?
And like Pancho, there doesn't seem to be any overlap at all. Maybe it was a detuned motor so the camera could survive for as long as possible.
