Some of the recent topics,although they affect everybody,have not been VMX.So I thought I might as well have my say on Old Pommie things,that smell and leak a bit.Do'nt get me wrong,I just love the sound and smell of all pommie engines,bikes,cars, planes etc,they all leak oil,which only adds to the aroma,and dare I say it,romance of a time prior to about 1970.Vincent, Triumph,E-type Jag,Rolls Royce,Spitfire,BSA,Tiger Moth,etc you get the idea,but would any of them be eligible for an Australian Award for Mechanical Excellence????
Then WTF was our glorious leader thinking when he Knighted Phil,only one person thinks it is a good idea,and it is NOT Phil!
Too many of our good ideas and people have left the country,to get recognition and be developed,for the greater good of mankind,so don't give our awards to someone who has only spent a couple of weeks of their life here!

I think from what I read most of the country agrees with you.  I don't think it's actually that big a deal as I personally couldn't care less who's a knight or not (what a load of toss), but for many people it's a complete WTF decision. Might be the one decision he comes to wish he hadn't made...

It is ultimately irrelevant.
But when you're a leader who's accused of being out of touch, it's a huge symbolic failure.

Prepare for a new PM in 10, 9, 8, 7....

These things mean F-All these days if you look at who receives OEM'S Knighthoods etc I can't see what all the kerfuffle is about.
Now can anyone name one person in the parliament that is not out of touch with society.
The Libs are accused of being toffs because they drink wine and smoke stoggies but the other crowd are lawyers and uni types who live in fairy land, they have all got me Fu#$%d.

What I don't like is the fact it has taken the attention away from the Aussie of the Year (Rosmary Battie) and her cause.
This should be the time for her and her cause to shine, except all we hear about is two ding bats (Tony and Phil) >:(

phil has done a lot for aust but has no recognition for it so tony is on the money but he has managed to completely cock it up (as only mr budgee can) and I can see JB in the chair much sooner than she thought!!

phill is the king of gaffes but everyone forgets he is old and still lives in a time when thats how everyone thought....classic British stuff ;D

  Maybe Tony thinks the royals might return the favour.  Off subject for a second, could anyone not believe in evolution after taking a look at our Prime Minister.
