Should have paid more attention when I disconnected the exhaust valve when I did the top end on this. I have it back together but can anyone tell me whether I have it right.
To me its not right because the spring appears to do nothing ie there no spring effect when the valve turns.
Love to get some advice on this.

Looks right to me,the spring only comes into play if the valve jams or stops short i'm thinking, to prevent damage, kinda like a damping device :)

I know nothing about suzi pv's, so this is just a shot in the dark, but if that is a return spring, you could try flipping it over, as the rotation of the valve may be moving with the spring wind, perhaps flipping it will allow it to work against the wind.

Looks alright standard Suzuki PV arrangement, the spring is the travel limiter. Give it a rev with the cover off

Thx fellas.

So finally, this valve only comes into play at high RPM and only when the engine is running ie there is no movement of the valve if you just turn over engine using the kickstarter??

Affirmative, in the words of the great Elvis Presley in Terra Firma
" you gotta rev that sucker, you gotta rev it over those triples Doug, you gotta rev that sucker"
Thank you, thank you very much.
