Hi just wondering if anyone could tell me how much and what weight oil to put in the forks of a 83 XR 200.

Cheers.

I would put ATF Automatic Transmission Fluid 150mm from the top forks down no springs. This is a good spot to start from.

atf is ~ 7.5 wt which is generally a good mid point for riding. if the bike is ridden hard and mx'd or desert run, you may need to go to 10wt or higher. just see if the forks are bouncing back in your face too much after hard compressions. (landings)
