Can anyone confirm whether the sidecovers from a KX125 A4 will fit to my 1980 KLX250? Thanks.
-
not with out mods to the frame . I think the shocks push into the side covers. I have positioned the kx side covers on a klx frame. It may possible by welding on mounting tabs etc, but I didn't like how they looked so didn't pursue it. maybe some one else can clarify the shock interference thing.

Thanks. Maybe go to Plan B.
Any idea if the 1982-1984 KX rear guard, the one with integrated number plates would easily fit my KLX?

Not sure what these are from but they look sweet ;)

They're perfect Digga...now if anyone can just identify them, I'll be cookin'.

Thats my old KLX, the guards and side covers are of a 1978 kx 125 purchased from nightmare racing in the USA. Hope that helps.

Hi, Those side covers look suspiciously like 76 77 Honda CR125.
cheers

Hey Zarro, great looking KLX.
I'll order those sidecovers, looks like the mounts are the same.
Can you tell me about your old shocks, look like YSS. Did you like them?
Also is that a larger diameter exhaust pipe and if so, who makes it? Thanks.

Hi PBMGold They are YSS shocks from Fernando Franco when he had Husky Parts. I ran standard KLX springs. I would recommend the YSS shocks, they're a very good shock.I also have a set on my Maico. The exhaust in the picture was a standard pipe with a homemade muffler. Later I got my brotherinlaw to bend me up a pipe out of 1 1/2 " stainless steel. The bigger diameter pipe meant that I had to run a pod filter which was fitted to a 34mm Mikuni carby. I also put a fork kit from Les at Mainly Maico, in the front end, great handling bike.
