Hi as the title say looking for a headlight for a restoration project , either sealed beam must be 6v and low wattage or one that will take a globe
Thanks
-
Thats a common size insert
How low wattage do you need? Plenty of H4 inserts available eg Hella/Narva/Cibie etc but getting low wattage 6V H4 globes is not easy. Lowest ive seen are 35/35w here http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffybulbs.htm
Maybe look for an older insert from jap trail bike that uses a H6M, P15D25-1 or P15D25-3 base globe as you can get those in 6v 15/15, 25/25 and 35/35. Just watch out for some of the Suzuki inserts as they are often non industry standard sizes eg they will be inbetween the common 4.5" size and 5.75" size or slightly larger than 5.75".

Thanks for your reply , you would think it would be easy to find but having trouble , repco , sprint auto and others can't help tried ebay to , nothing in Australia on there couple in the states but it's $50 to post it according to them
Not sure what wattage it should be , 25 - 35 should be ok
For a 1950 excelsior

why not honda Zfiddy headlight?,they're pretty small, repos on e bay,not sure on size but,i used the lense/globe in a preston petty ,had to swap globe as the moderner repos run 12v,std hondas 20/25,or even 15/15,gives a brighter light ,or beezer bantam headlite?, :P

Ok its for english bike
call these guys, ask for a 5 & 3/4 insert that will take a 25 to 35w 6 volt globe (probably british pre focus base)

if you are willing to hunt down a 6v H4 globe then you can easily get a H4 insert on ebay or car parts shop. Just get the Hella or Narva part number off their websites and then ask for that at Sprint Auto/Repro etc. Some people behind the counters are hopeless. They are a common item and are available in Australia.
Another source for hard to get globes
