Title: Bearing kit for rear swingarm
Post by: Broad-Arrow on December 17, 2014, 07:57:43 pm
I'm rebuilding the swingarm on an XR250RF.  One approach is to buy original Honda parts.  A cheaper option is to buy an aftermarket kit.  What are the best aftermarket kits?  So far I have only found a kit by All Balls Racing.  What's the All Balls products like?

TIA.  Broad-Arrow.

All Balls kits are good, I use them all the time.

can you get the bearings from a bearing shop? huskys run std skf and everything is available at the local bearing shop.

Japanese tho quite often "make special sizes" to frustrate punters like your self. but it is worth checking the sizes at your local bearing shop in case harahito got slack and ordered from a catalogue...

can be a hell of a lot cheaper....

The swingarm kits from allballsracing are great.  Some times its not just bearings you need, it may also be bushes and seals.  The all balls kits i purchased for my YZ125K are comprehensive and include all sorts of bushes, needle bearings, normal bearings, seals etc.. so i think they are good value.  You can order directly from their website and virtually get every seal, bush and bearing for your bike in one hit.

Cheers,
Alex

But as Husky said, still worth giving the local bearing shop a ring for availability and pricing for your bearings.  They are usually generic.  I will be taking a cruise to a bearing shop to see if they have one of those special type bearings that goes in the brake arm.  Its like a gimble and just allows the brake arm to move up and down and twist slightly.
Cheers,
Alex
